Your journey begins with a warm welcome from our experienced local guide, who will meet you at your hotel or the airport and brief you on your adventure. You’ll start with a Kigali city tour, exploring Rwanda’s vibrant capital, founded in 1907 by Dr. Richard Kandt, the country’s first colonial governor. Kigali is not only the heart of Rwanda’s administration and economy but also admired for its cleanliness, safety, and lush green hills. The city seamlessly blends its historical legacy with modern development.

During your city tour, you will have the chance to:

· Explore an artisan market showcasing local crafts and artworks

· Visit the Kigali Museum, where you’ll learn about Rwanda’s pre-colonial and colonial history

· Tour around Kigali to witness its impressive post-genocide growth and infrastructure

· Visit the Gisozi Genocide Memorial, a place of remembrance and reflection

After the city tour, you will head to Musanze/Ruhengeri through Rwanda’s rolling green landscapes a journey that truly defines its title as “The Land of a Thousand Hills.” Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & Cultural Experience
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your first gorilla trek. Once you return, the experience continues with a visit to the Village Walk, near the park. Here, you’ll enjoy a lively and engaging introduction to traditional Rwandan culture through song, dance, and storytelling.

You’ll also:

· Taste local dishes and banana beer

· Visit Local homes or schools

· Explore community-based projects and cooperatives supported by tourism

Later, on your way back to the lodge, you can choose from optional activities such as:

· Shopping at Ruhengeri Market for fabrics, foods, and handicrafts

· Visiting the Twin Lakes (Burera and Ruhondo), offering stunning views of the Virunga Mountain range

Day 3: Second Gorilla Trek & Transfer to Gisenyi
Begin another early morning trek in Volcanoes National Park, choosing a different gorilla group for a unique experience. After your trek, continue your journey to Gisenyi, a charming lakeside town on the shores of Lake Kivu.

Lake Kivu, one of Africa’s Great Lakes, lies at an altitude of 1,461 meters and is the highest freshwater lake in Africa. The area offers spectacular views of both the lake and the Virunga Volcanoes. With its sandy beaches and relaxing atmosphere, Gisenyi feels like a serene tropical getaway the perfect place to unwind after two days of trekking.

Spend the afternoon relaxing and enjoying the lakeside scenery.

Urwibutso supports local farmers and empowers the community by:

· Creating jobs, especially for women
